The Chosen Key Word in this Chapter is “Mirrors” it comes from the Hebrew Word “mar’ah” which means “mirror, looking glass.”

Bezaleel constructs the altar of burnt offering from acacia wood overlaid with bronze, complete with horns at each corner, a bronze grating, and rings for carrying poles, along with all its accompanying pots, shovels, basins, and instruments made of bronze. He then builds the laver of bronze, along with its bronze base, made specifically “of the lookingglasses of the women assembling,” the mirrors donated by the women who served at the entrance of the tabernacle. The Hebrew word for these mirrors is “mar’ah,” a striking detail, women giving up their own personal mirrors to help construct a basin meant for the priests’ purification.
The court surrounding the tabernacle is built next, one hundred cubits long and fifty cubits wide, enclosed by fine linen hangings suspended from sixty bronze pillars with silver hooks and bands, with a beautifully woven screen serving as the gate. The chapter provides a careful accounting of exactly how much gold, silver, and bronze was used throughout the entire project, itemized in precise detail.
This detailed inventory names Bezaleel and Aholiab specifically as the master craftsmen responsible for the work, emphasizing the transparency and accountability with which such a sacred, valuable project was completed. Every material given by the people’s willing hearts was accounted for honestly and used exactly as intended for God’s dwelling place.
The careful, itemized accounting of every material used shows real integrity in handling what the people had generously given. Sacred work does not exempt anyone from honest accountability. If anything, the sacredness of the task makes careful, transparent stewardship even more essential, not less.
