The Chosen Key Word in this Chapter is “Restrained” it comes from the Hebrew Word “kala” which means “to restrain, to hold back.”

Bezaleel, Aholiab, and every wise-hearted person whom the Lord has gifted begin the work of constructing the tabernacle exactly according to everything the Lord commanded. The people continue bringing freewill offerings morning after morning, so generously that the skilled workers eventually go to Moses and report that the people are bringing far more than enough material to complete the work. Moses gives an order throughout the camp, and remarkably, “the people were restrained from bringing.” The Hebrew word for this restraint is “kala,” meaning to hold back or withhold, an unusual and beautiful problem for any building project to have.
With more than sufficient materials in hand, the workers proceed to construct the tabernacle’s ten curtains of fine twined linen with blue, purple, and scarlet thread, embroidered with cherubim, exactly as God had specified to Moses on the mountain. They add the covering of goats’ hair, the covering of ram skins dyed red, and the outer covering of badger skins, each layer built precisely according to the pattern given.
The upright boards of acacia wood overlaid with gold are constructed and set into silver sockets, joined together with bars running through gold rings to hold the structure firmly in place. The veil is woven with cherubim in blue, purple, and scarlet, hung on gold-covered pillars with silver sockets, and the entrance hanging is made in the same rich materials, completing the tabernacle’s primary structure exactly as God had originally shown Moses.
A congregation once so quick to build a golden calf out of impatience is now so generous that Moses has to tell them to stop giving. That contrast says something powerful about redirected devotion. The same passionate energy that once went toward idolatry had become wholehearted, overflowing worship instead.
