David asks that those who say “Aha, aha” be turned back as a reward of their “shame,” “boshet” in Hebrew, while all those who seek God rejoice and be glad in Him, and those who love His salvation say continually, “Let God be magnified.”
David closes describing himself as poor and needy, urgently asking God to make haste to him, since He is his help and his deliverer, pleading, “O LORD, make no tarrying,” a brief, urgent psalm almost identical to the closing verses of Psalm 40, showing how genuine crisis sometimes calls for the shortest, most direct prayers rather than lengthy, elaborate petitions.
