The chapter briefly records the descendants of Issachar, noting their considerable military strength during David’s reign, along with Benjamin’s sons and their own mighty men of valor. It records Naphtali’s sons briefly, and then turns to Manasseh’s descendants on both sides of the Jordan, including the notable inheritance given to the daughters of Zelophehad, a detail carried forward faithfully from the earlier accounts in Numbers and Joshua.
